Kerala Engineering Staff Association

The engineering junior technical staff association was formed in 1957 by a few energetic and spirited young men .It is now the largest representative body of the engineering employees in the state. Ever since its formation, the association was working for preserving and strengthening the unity of civil servant, boosting up efficiency of civil service and for bettering the service condition if the engineering employees. While we have been co-operative with sister association to fight again all anti-labor elements and actions, We have also taken bold steps to prevent function and division of civil service on political motivation and ideology we believe and up hold that the primary function of service organization is to look after the interest of its member and there by to serve the nation better, for the government machinery is not independent of its civil service. We also wish to impress on the government that the objects of government, what ever be the political ideology, can be achieved only if the morale and efficiency of civil service is kept of at high standard. The administrative set up we have now is a remnant of the bureaucratic administrative machinery of the British.

Engineers Day

The objective of the British rule was to exploit the nation and to put down all progressive forces agitating against the exploitation in the name of law and order. The declared objective of the government today brings quite different from that of the British; the governmental machinery also requires a change in its constitution and pattern. The national leadership has time and again decried the bureaucratic administration. But they seldom come forward to give expression to tapir words and ideas. This is because the politicians holding offices are prone to be guided by the bureaucrats, the vested interests and their allies. Even the leaders who have risen from the lowest strata of the society backed of by the labor forces, not up and social order.

The policy of the national leadership can be effectively implemented only if the administrative implemented only if the administrative structure is reorganized and reoriented. The educationists, the technicians, the scientists and other who have to shape the destiny of the nation are ignored by the Government which claims that their objective is socialism and nation rebuilding. A progressive Government can ill afford to ignore the technicians who have the highest contribution in the onward march of the nation.
